Anti-corruption lodges case against revenue officer for selling government’s land

GUJRANWALA: The anti-corruption department on Monday detained a land record officer for allegedly transferring ownership of Punjab government’s land to a citizen.

Reportedly, a citizen Muhammad Ashraf filed an application accusing Muhammad Riaz and a land record officer namely Azmat Ali of preparing a bogus deed for selling government’s land. Meanwhile, the initial investigation revealed that Azmat issued a bogus land deed to the seller Riaz, who fraudulently sold the piece of land to Ashraf.

Consequently, the officials of anti-corruption department lodged a case against them while further investigation is underway.
