Police arrest activist Jibran Nasir

KARACHI:  Human rights activist and lawyer Jibran Nasir was arrested on Monday by Karachi police.

In a video message, Jibran said that he was arrested by the police after being alleged of disrupting a protocol of a judge.

While addressing media inside the police station, Jibran criticised  Station House Officer (SHO) over “arresting and assaulting citizens without any reason”.

“If I am a criminal then an FIR should be filed and since I am not a VIP here and I did not make any calls,” said the activist adding he would spend the night in the station like an ordinary citizen.

Jibran further said that he would not return to home without knowing why he was arrested.

Jibran Nasir is a huiman rights activist and a lawyer by profession.

He has submitted nomination papers to contest general elections 2018 from NA-247 (Karachi).
