Pasban-e-Pakistan (PP) organized a declamation contest on Sunday in Homeopathic Medical College, Nazimabad.

The topic for the declamation contest was “We do not need a province but megacity rights.” Many young speakers took the podium to express their point of view.

Participants were of the view that the slogan of megacity rights for Karachi had become voice of every youth of the megacity. They said that there were supporters of this idea in every household of Karachi. Speakers said that the megacity would only be developed on modern lines and its education, healthcare, public transport, housing, industry, recreation, jobs and civic infrastructure would be only be revamped when it gained its megacity constitutional right.

The moot unanimously approved the motion entitled ‘We do not want a province but megacity rights’. Speaking as the chief guest PP General Secretary, Usman Moazzam said that corrupt politicians had looted Karachi on false promises and misleading slogans. He said that the voters of megacity were now politically and socially mature and they would this time reject political beggars in these elections. Pasban Karachi chapter president Abdul Hakim Quaid, senior leader PP Iqbal Hashmi and others also addressed the gathering on the occasion. The guests also distributed shields and certificates amongst distinguished speakers.
