ISLAMABAD: The printing of ballot papers began on Sunday under the supervision of army for upcoming General Elections 2018.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) the ballot papers used in elections are imported just to ensure the transparency of elections.

The ballot papers are being printed in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.

A total of 210 million ballot papers will be printed for the elections, Rs2 billion is the estimated cost of the printing, which makes the elections the most expensive in the electoral history of Pakistan.

To avoid the lack in ballot papers, the number of ballot papers printed for a polling station will be more than the number of required ones.
