ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Sunday ordered the authorities to complete the construction of Rawalpindi’s Mother and Child Hospital in 18 months.
A two-member bench headed by CJP presided over the hearing related to the hospital. The CJP deplored that the hospital’s construction has not been completed in 10 years.
He warned the officials present in the court that any further delay will not be tolerated.
CJP Nisar stated that the Supreme Court (SC) will oversee the construction of the hospital and will make sure that there is no delay in the availability of funds.
During the hearing, officials informed the court that the project cost is estimated at over Rs5.3 billion with a completion time of 2 years.
However, the CJP made it clear that the construction must be completed in 18 months and a daily progress report must be submitted to the SC.
