The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday said it could prevent those interim ministers from performing their duties who have not yet submitted their asset details to the electoral body, a private TV channel reported.
As per Elections Act, 2017, the caretaker ministers are required to submit their asset details along with those of their family members within three days of taking the oath. However, the majority of the interim ministers have failed to submit their asset details to the ECP.
The ECP expressed displeasure at the situation and issued a warning that if the interim cabinet members do not submit their asset details as per the law, they could be stopped from performing their duties.
