Man kills girl, her alleged paramour for ‘honour’: police

JACOBABAD: A girl and her alleged paramour were gunned down by her uncle on Saturday for having illicit relationship in Keviro Jakhrani Village of Ghari Khairo tehsil of Jacobabad district in Sindh province.

According to the police sources, 18-year-old Hoor Zadi and Abdul Khalique Lolai were murdered by the accused Nadir Ali Jakhrani. Consequently, he managed to flee from the scene.

Meanwhile, the area police shifted the bodies to the Civil Hospital in Jacobabad for autopsy.

Despite recent constitutional amendments by the provincial government of Sindh, hundreds of women have been killed for ‘honour’, particularly in Northern Sindh.
