Girl’s rights

Author: Daily Times

Sir: I want to draw readers’ attention to the prevalent bias in our society against girls. We like to think this is a modern era where everything is hunky dory, unfortunately many people’s minds remain stuck in the Middle Ages when it comes to the rights of girls. In our society, if parents can afford to educate only one child, they will always educate their son not their daughter. Why? Because according to our society a man’s rights take precedent over a woman’s rights. Girls are constantly rejected and insulted, because they are girls. Men are thought to be superior to women.

This has to change. Women and men are equal and both can perform equally well in all sectors. We just have to change how we think.
