Rajanpur: Five members of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday returned their party tickets to the returning officers (RO) and announced to contest elections as independent candidates.
Those who returned the tickets include former deputy speaker Punjab Assembly Sher Ali Gorchani (NA-193 and PP-293), Pervez Gorchani (PP-294), Hafeez-U-Rehman Dreshak (NA-194), Youaf Dreshak (PP-296).
The candidates are now allotted the sign of ‘Jeep’ to contest in upcoming general elections.
Sources reported that it was pre-planned to return party tickets on the last date so that no one can contest from the above-mentioned constituencies.
