SHIKARPUR: The activists of World Sindhi Congress (WSC) and the Sindhi Association of North America (SANA) on Friday staged a demonstration in front of the Pakistani Consulates in three major cities of America including Houston, New York and Los Angeles against ‘enforced disappearance’ of political and social activists of Sindh province and other cities of Pakistan.
Reportedly, the protest was led by the activists including Zakir Bulo, Farhan Kagzi, Dr Hyder Lashari and Shahid Memon in New York, Maimood Sahir, Mashoque Malah, Zubair Bhambhro and Masroor Samoon in Houston, and Sagheer Shaikh, Eijaz Syed, Rahman Kakepoto, Malik Dino Shaikh, Ubedullah Khowaja in Los Angeles.
They expressed grave concerns over the violation of human rights in Sindh and strongly condemned the torture on protesters during peaceful protest that was held on May 21.
Furthermore, they demanded human rights organisations and the government authorities to take notice of ‘enforced disappearance’ of the missing persons.
According to a press release issued by WSC, the protesters had presented a memo regarding the enforced disappearances to the Pakistani Consulate General of New York and Houston. However, the consulate staff in Los Angles refused to take the memo.
