SHIKARPUR: A number of activists on Friday recorded their protest at three different cities of the United States (US) including Houston, New York and Los Angeles against enforced disappearances in Pakistan.
The protest was organised by World Sindhi Congress (WSC) and Sindhi Association of North America (SANA).
Leaders of both organisations protested in three different cities of the US. Zakir Bulo, Farhan Kagzi, Dr Hyder Lashari, and Shahid Memon held a protest in New York, Maimood Sahir, Mashooque Malah, Zubair Bhambhro and Masroor Samoon gathered a rally in Houston, while Sagheer Shaikh, Eijaz Syed, Rahman Kakepoto, Malik Dino Shaikh, Ubedullah Khowaja protested in Los Angeles against enforced disappearance of people in Sindh and Pakistan.
Leaders expressed their deep reservations over human rights violations in Sindh and condemned ‘torture’ on protesters during peaceful demonstrations on May 21.They also demanded that the high ups and human rights organisations take notice of the issue.
Protesters also presented copies of acknowledgment before the New York consulate, but they did not receive it while a copy of acknowledgment was given to Houston consulate general for the welfare of the people of Sindh and Pakistan, read a press release issued by WSC.
