Anti-corruption lodges case against seven accused in land fraud

GUJRANWALA: The anti-corruption department on Thursday lodged a case against seven accused including a land record officer (Patwari) and a sub-registrar for their alleged involvement in transferring property ownership illegally and fraudulently.

Reportedly, a woman namely Sadia Shahzad filed an application accusing land grabbers namely Ghazanfar Ahmed and Liaqat Ali of preparing a forged land deed and transferring ownership of her 13 kanal of land located in Hafizabad to another woman.

After investigation, the anti-corruption officials found enough evidence and registered a case against Ghazanfar, Liaqat, sub-registrar Muhammad Shahid, land record officer Khizar, stamp vendor Anayat Ullah, witnesses including Mubashir Ahmed and Imtiaz Ahmed.

Meanwhile, further investigation is underway.

Boys throw acid at girl over playing cricket in street. A girl suffered severe burns on Thursday when boys playing in the street threw acid at her.

Reportedly, 13-year-old Sehrish asked boys to not play cricket in the street.

Consequently, they threw acid at her and managed to flee from the scene.

Meanwhile, she was rushed to DHQ Hospital for treatment. The Dhulley Police have started investigation into the matter.
