The former Senate chairman Muhammad Mian Soomro’s sister namely Maliha Soomro was also present in the rally which remarked a significant turnout of women.
Reportedly, initiating from district council road, the protesters marched through various roads of the city while chanting full throat slogans against former provincial government of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and then culminated the rally in front of deputy commissioner’s office.
While addressing the agitators, Maliha Soomro, Raaz Khan Pathan, Zubida Jakhrani, Zoya Soomro and others criticised influential politicians of the district, and claimed that the citizens have been suffering due to their incompetence, ineptitude and corrupt practices.
“The politicians, who are involved in mega corruption scandals, would be held accountable,” they said while expressing grave concerns over general public’s issues that were not resolved during the tenure of PPP’s government including potable water, healthcare facilities, power crisis, quality education and unemployment.
The leaders of the rally further urged the people of Jacobabad to support and vote for PTI’s candidates in order to take revenge from PPP.
“People seek development and prosperity in the region which requires formulating and implementing effective policies of the government,” they said while promoting PTI’s viewpoint of change and reforms to upgrade the system.
Maliha Soomro motivated the people of Jacobabad to caste their vote in favour of Mian Soomro to ensure progress and prosperity of the city.
