PTI withdraws tickets from two in Gujrat

Author: News Desk

The turmoil over distribution of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) tickets persisted as the party’s two Gujrat candidates found their names missing in the updated list issued on Tuesday.

The names of former Gujrat district president Chaudhary Ilyas and Muhammad Zubair, who were allotted tickets for NA-71 and PP-28, were missing from the updated list.

Earlier on Sunday, the PTI had withdrawn its ticket awarded to former federal minister Sikandar Hayat Bosan of Multan after videos of protests by angry workers in Bosan’s area got viral on social media.

Bosan had been awarded a ticket to contest the upcoming general election from NA-154 Multan constituency. The disgruntled workers raised the issue that he joined the party just a month before the allotment of tickets.
