CS Sindh directs relevant officials to follow ECP guidelines

Sindh Chief Secretary Major (Rtd) Azam Suleman Khan asked the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners (DC), DIGs, SSPs and all concerned officers to ensure the implementation of code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during the upcoming elections.

He was addressing the officers through a video conference, which was also addressed by the Provincial Election Commissioner M. Yousuf Khan and Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Amjad Javed Salemmeee.

Divisional and District Management Officers were advised by the Chief Secretary to perform their election duty in accordance with the ECP-code of conduct.

He also told the Divisional and District Management and Police Officers to take legal action against candidate and their supporters for carrying out arms and ammunition/arms weapons, which is under ban.

Azam Suleman Khan said that the Deputy Commissioners must inform their Commissioner about any incident that occurs in their District. He categorically noted that the missing facilities must be provided in all polling stations to facilitate the polling staff and voters for peaceful election process.

IGP Sindh Amjad Javed Saleemee and Provincial Election Commissioners M. Yusuf Khatk also addressed the conference and advised the officers to assist the ECP so the transparency of the upcoming elections can be ensured.

SMBR Dr. Iqbal Durrani, Secretary GA Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Secretary Education Dr. Alya Shahid, Secretary Home Haroon Ahmed, Secretary Implementation Syed Mohsin Ali Shah, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Saaleh Farooqi and other officers including six Deputy Commissioners of Karachi were also present.
