Anti-corruption team arrests three suspects in land grabbing case

GUJRANWALA: The anti-corruption department on Tuesday arrested two suspected land-grabbers and a land record officer (Patwari) during a raid in Sialkot.

Reportedly, a citizen Maqsood Begum, widow of Liaqat Ali, filed an application that a few land grabbing mafia members forged her property ownership documents in affiliation with land record officer namely Bashir Ahmed. Meanwhile, after investigation, the beneficiaries namely Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Latif, and Bashir Ahmed were arrested.

230 prisoners being treated at Central Jail after health screening

The Gujranwala Central Jail administration on Tuesday completed the health screening of all prisoners in collaboration with district health department.

According to a press release, two sessions of hepatitis vaccination were also conducted.

The first session was completed in March, second in April while the third is expected to be held in August, 2018.

Out of 3,442 prisoners, 230 were found victim of hepatitis, who are being medicated at jail hospital.

Matric result to be declared on July 21

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Gujranwala on Tuesday announced to declare matriculation result on July 21 instead of July 24, the previous date.

Earlier, the examination board fixed July 24 for declaration of result, however due to upcoming general elections that would be held on July 25, the board reviewed that administrative officers would be appointed on their respective duties to perform during polling.
