President of Turkmenistan arrives in Islamabad to attend ECO summit

ISLAMABAD: Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov was presented a 21 gun salute and guard of honour on his arrival in the federal capital.

Turkmenistan’s president reached Islamabad on Wednesday, to attend the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit in Islamabad.

He was greeted by Federal Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at Nur Khan Airbase and was presented a 21 gun salute and guard of honour. The national anthems of both the countries were also played on the occasion.

The security across the country, including the federal capital, was put on high alert especially for the event.
