THARPARKAR: District Returning Officer (DRO) Tharparkar in Mithi Mushtaq Ahmed Kalwar on Monday issued a show cause notice to Chairman Town Committee Nangarparkar Sardar Khan Khoso.
According to DRO, Khoso earlier on June 21 arranged a political gathering for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Qasim Siraj Soomro of PP-55 constituency which was against Election Commission’s code of conduct.
Mithi’s DRO maintained the view that it was illegal for the Town Committee Chairman to arrange or participate in political gatherings for/or with any candidate.
The issued notice read that Khoso has three days to submit a written response explaining his action, otherwise action may be taken against him under the Eclection Act 2017.
Daily Times learnt that numerous government employees were supporting various campaigns of candidates from different political parties all across Sindh.
Tharparkar’s District Chairman (DC) Dr Ghulam Hyder Samejo along with Umerkot’s DC Haji Khalid Siraj Soomro were also found to be involved in elections campaigns but no legal notice has been issued to the officials as yet.
