PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP) Advocate General Abdul Lateef Yousafzai Monday tendered his resignation.

Yousafzai submitted his resignation to KP Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra . He was appointed by the former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in September 2013.

“I was appointed the advocate general by the government which has completed its tenure, and the caretaker set-up has assumed the charge for holding fresh elections. I, therefore, tender my resignation with immediate effect,” a letter addressed to the KP governor said.

Yousafzai had defended the KP government in a number of high profile cases, especially on petitions challenging the enactment of the Ehtesab Commission Act, 2014, and the KP Medical Teaching Institutions Reforms Act, 2015.
