Rapist sentenced to three years in prison

KHAIRPUR: The district and sessions court in Khairpur on Monday sentenced a rapist to three years of imprisonment. Reportedly, the Khairpur civil judge-cum-judicial magistrate Syed Anwer Ali Shah announced the verdict and sentenced the convicted Saifullah Phulpoto to three years in jail and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him for raping a boy named Izhar Ahmed Phulpoto. Saifullah raped Izhar at gunpoint on January 14, 2018 near Therhi, a town in the district of Khairpur in Sindh province.
Protests erupt as boy drowns in Chandio Water Park

A boy drowned on Monday while swimming in a pond of Chandio Water Park in Mirpur Mathelo, a town in Ghotki district of Sindh province. Reportedly, Jan Muhammad Pitafi slipped into deep waters as he took plunge into a pond of Chandio Water Park. Meanwhile, his body was fished out and shifted to Mirpur Mathelo Hospital for autopsy. Later, a local group held a strong protest against administration of the water park and demanded a first information report (FIR) to be registered.
