PTDC chairman parts ways with PMLN

Politics of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has been twisted more as former provincial minister and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Chaudhry Ghafoor Miyo announced separation from the party on differences with the Sharifs.

Addressing a big press conference along with dozens of followers at the Lahore Press Club on Sunday, PTDC Chairman Chaudhry Ghafoor Miyo said that he was not joining any other party at the moment but could also not bear to remain a part of the “traitors” of the county and friends of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He alleged that the leadership of PMLN to involve itself in the conspiracy of international ‘Fifth Generation War’ is to weaken Pakistani institutes, especially the Pakistan Army who is giving sacrifices on the borders to defend and secure the lives of Pakistani citizens.

Chaudhry Ghafoor Miyo said that he had 28 years’ long affiliation with PMLN and he had paid several services and sacrifices for the party during the military dictatorship of General Parvez Musharraf and Tehreek-e-Nijat of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

On a query about why to leave the party at this time, either it was a matter of election tickets or something else, he confirmed that he was not a candidate from any constituency as he did not file nomination papers in this election so he should not be considered or discussed as a man of interest watching but a man of principles because he had wanted to leave the party when PML-N leadership made constitutional amendments about the oath of Khatam-e-Nabuat being a Muslim.

He further added that he was also disturbed and wanted to leave PMLN when a pregnant lady was killed by straight firing during the Model Town massacre. On this occasion, he also raised the slogan of “Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah” but denied to join a political movement of Khadim Hussain Rizvi.

Ghafoor Miyo also announced on this occasion that he would hold anti-Sharif rallies in all the constituencies from where the Sharif family members especially Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and others are participating in Lahore. He also confirmed that a day before, he had started his anti-Sharif campaign by holding first corner meeting with his own Miyo Clan members in Shahbaz Sharif’s constituency, NA-132.

To a query, he told the media that he was the man who had prepared the grave of Nawaz Sharif’s father in Jati Umra, along with his own father.

He also alleged that Nawaz and Shahbaz had mostly accommodated Parvez Musharaf’s people like Marvi Memon, Talal Chaudhry and Daniyal Aziz who have rendered no sacrifices for the party in the past. He asked Sharifs to tell the masses about their merit of awarding tickets in the elections, adding that mostly the tickets were sold by Sharifs to the wealthy criminals. He clarified that he did not file nomination papers from any seats in upcoming general elections but appeared before the PMLN parliamentary board just to show the right path to the leadership but failed.

Pertinent to mention that Ghafoor belongs to migrated Miyo family and a clan of Rajput race in the city who are mostly settled in good numbers in the three important constituencies of NA-132, 134, and 136.
