According to party sources, the list was issued after the approval of the party’s chief Imran Khan. Candidates for the remaining few constituencies would be decided in near future.
As many as 229 candidates were nominated for the National Assembly seats out of a total 272 seats. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the party awarded tickets to 90 candidates off 99 seats.
The party chose Khalid Maqbool Chohan over Ayesha Nazir in NA-163, while Ali Muhammad Khan’s name was also included in the final list.
Former PML-N leader Sikandar Bosan’s name was withdrawn from the list. His inclusion in the first list had triggered unrest within the party ranks.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his sons Zain Hussain Qureshi will be contesting from NA-156 and NA-157.
Tahir Sadik had been assigned the task to contest on two constituencies of Attock.
In addition, 79 candidates were chosen to contest in Sindh on provincial assembly seats.
PTI stalwart Asad Umar was awarded a ticket to contest the election from Islamabad. The party also finalized 11 candidates for election in FATA.
