Electables vs workers

Author: Daily Times

Sir: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as a political force because it promised change and an anti-political establishment stance. The PTI chairman, was seen as a squeaky clean idealist who would deliver our political arena from the corrupt politicians which have plagued it for years.

Today things are different. Khan is willing to fully engage in realpolitik to ensure his victory in the upcoming elections. This has miffed many PTI workers. Many old notable PTI workers have abandoned its ranks, and others are protesting in front of Khan’s Bani Gala residence. Khan has responded to them by saying ‘electables’ are necessary for the PTI to come out on top.

The question is, however, is this a victory worth having?
