Provincial bureacracy reviews polling day arrangements

Karachi: Sindh Chief Secretary Major (retd) Azam Suleman Khan has stressed the need to ensure fool proof arrangements for the upcoming elections.

While presiding a meeting at the Chief Secretary’s House on Saturday, Khan instructed all officials concerned to do the needful for providing all basic facilities including potable water, toilets, electricity and entry/exit points at polling stations.

The meeting was attended by the Provincial Election Commissioner Muhammad Yousuf Khan Khattak , IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi, SMBR Dr. Iqbal Hussain Durrani, Home Secretary Haroon Ahmed, Services and General Administration Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Implementation Secretary Mohsin Ali Shah, Finance Secretary Dr. Noor Alam and SPPRA managing director Muhammad Aslam Ghouri. They discussed all aspects of administrative arrangements for the elections and vowed to ensure cooperation to the ECP for a free and fair polling exercise.

The chief secretary asked the home secretary to remain in close coordination with the Election Commission of Pakistan, Sindh Police and all other departments concerned, while the secretaries for School Education and Implementation & Coordination were directed to jointly monitor and arrange all facilities at polling stations in consultation with the divisional/district administrations.
