DADU: Uncertainty and fear prevailed, while the residents of the Talti and Mathahion area of the district restricted themselves to their homes, as six Lashari tribesmen were butchered on Friday during an armed attack led by Mari tribesmen near District Jail Dadu when the rival tribes were on their way to court hearing in a shooting case.

Reportedly, the Dadu Police have failed to arrest the suspects for murdering six people, causing anger among the affected people.

On Saturday, the protesters blocked Indus Highway for five hours at Pir Shakh near Dadu city, suspending traffic to various towns of Sindh province.

Addressing the agitators, Pervaiz Ahmed Lashari, cousin of six deceased men, accused Dadu town police of planning an attack on six Lashari tribesmen.

He alleged that the Dadu town police station house officer (SHO) Rana Nasrullah, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Omer Panhwar and other officers took bribe from Mari tribesmen, and lodged a ‘fake’ first information report (FIR) against their tribesmen 15 days ago.

“Mari tribesmen planned with Dadu police to attack Lashari tribesmen while they were on their way to court hearing,” he claimed while adding that the assailants used police weapons in the attack.

A village elder and cousin of six deceased tribesmen, Ghulam Sarwar Lashari claimed that bullets of G3 police rifles were recovered from the crime scene.

Furthermore, he alleged that Mari tribesmen had threatened to kill more people belonging Lashari tribe, if they attempt to lodge an FIR against them.

Meanwhile, Subhan Lashari, a close relative of the deceased, vowed to continue protest until the accused murderers including police officers of Dadu police station are arrested.

Consequently, the Dadu Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tanvir Tunio arrived at the spot and negotiated with the demonstrators. He assured them that an FIR would be lodged against the accused police officers and murderers.

He urged the protesters to vacate the road for the CJP to pass through.

Resultantly, the protesters dispersed off peacefully, and the traffic was restored.

SSP suspends SHO, FIR registered against 10 suspects

The Dadu town police on Saturday lodged an FIR against 10 suspects belonging to Mari tribesmen for murdering six Lashari tribesmen.

Reportedly, following the complaint of Akhtiar Ali Lashari, brother of deceased Mashoq Ali Lashari, FIR nominated eight men including Meer Hassan, Mohammad Bux, Khuda Bux, Shir Mohammad, Allah Bux, Meer Gul, Bakhat Jamal and Dhani Bux Mari while two were declared unknown.

Moreover, SSP Tunio suspended SHO Rana Nasrullah and terminated ASI Omer Panhwar from police service over charges of registering a fake FIR against six Lashari tribesmen and receiving bribe from Mari tribesmen.
