SHIKARPUR: A 25-year-old was shot dead while four others were wounded during a clash between two clans, Machi and Wadhyo, in Shikarpur on Saturday.
According to police, a brawl erupted between two groups of Machi and Wadhyo tribesmen over release of water, which was halted, into agricultural lands.
A villager, identified as 25-year-old Javeed Ahmed, succumbed to his injuries after he was shot during the crossfire. Four others, including two from the Machi clan and two from the Wadhyo clan were wounded.
The injured were identified as Muhammad Ali Machi, Muhammad Akram Machi, Nisar Ahmed Wadhayo and Dost Ali Wadhayo.
The police reached at the spot and took the situation under control, while shifted the injured to Civil Hospital Shikarpur for medical attention.
The dead body of the deceased was handed over to his family after conducting postmortem examination. The condition of the injured was said to be out of danger.
It was also reported that area police have made multiple arrests to avoid further loss of precious lives, but there is no confirmation yet.
