Ten shrines in Sindh on terrorists’ hit list-Sanaullah Abbasi

DADU: Additional Inspector General of the Police Counter Terrorism Department in Sindh, Sanaullah Abbasi, has stated on Wednesday that ten shrines in Sindh are reportedly on the hit list of terrorists.

Talking to journalists at the SSP office in Dadu on Wednesday, he said that ten shrines including, Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz, Hazrat Sachal Sarmast , Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, and others were put on high security alert and ‘plan A’ category owing to terrorist threats.

He confirmed that the police and law enforcement agencies were investigating the arrested suspects of the Sehwan Blast. Due to its nature as an investigation under progress, further details could not be provided at the present time which could potentially harm the investigation.

The security of other shrines in Sindh was in the B and C categories. The AIG added that the DNA tests of 17 devotees was conducted – the report will arrive tomorrow. He said that the suicide bomber was recognized through CCTV cameras. His video was released and he had confirmed that it was the suicide bomber at Sehwan Sharif shrine; a DNA test using samples obtained from his head – which was recovered from shrine – will also arrive tomorrow.

Abbasi warned that all foreigners would be arrested who are living here illegally even with NICs made by NADRA. Those officials responsible for making these NICs would have cases lodged against them. He affirmed that all upper Sindh blasts were being investigated and the people who were arrested in connection with these blasts had revealed they had received training in Afghanistan where they had lived for two or three months. After terror activities in Karachi, intelligence agencies and the police also reported that RAW and other foreign agencies were purported to be involved in terrorist attacks in Karachi.

On this occasion SSP Larkana, Omer Tufail, Zeshan Siddiqi SSP Shikarpur, Sajid Khokhar SSP Jaccobabad, SSP Jamshoro Tanvir Allam Odho, SSP Dadu Shabbir Ahmed Sethar , Abdullah Niazi SP CTD Larkana, ASP Sehwan Dr Sami Malik accompanied the AIGP CTD in a briefing.
