Pictures of two female pilots of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) went viral on social as they flew a very challenging flight from Islamabad to Gilgit.
PIA on Thursday shared a picture of the two with an appreciative caption which read that “The flight to Gilgit is very challenging and requires a lot of precision and technique.”
It added, “Our dynamic duo, Captain Maryam Masood and First Officer Shumaila Mazhar make it look so easy as they fly through the mountains celebrating the beauty of our northern areas! Way to go!”
First Officer Shumaila Mazhar told the media that Maryam Masood and all the female crew flew the PIA plane from Islamabad to Gilgit and was scheduled to come back on Wednesday.
She also added that it was not the first time a female crew flew the flight, she further said, “It is a common practice of PIA’s female crew.”
As soon as PIA shared the post on twitter, social media reacted in a great way admiring the empowered women.
The two were appreciated by renowned personalities along with other people on social media.
Senator Sherry Rehman shared the picture of the two and stated that “Women are truly the best thing coming out of Pakistan,” she then admired both of them and congratulated PIA for moving them (the captains) up with time.
Others also took it to Twitter to express the respect and appreciation for the female pilots.
