NAUDERO: The heirs and relatives of three murdered people belonging to Chandio community on Friday staged a sit-in demonstration in front of Bhutto House demanding arrest of alleged murderers namely Sardar Khan Chandio and Burhan Khan Chandio, and withdrawal of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) tickets issued to them to contest elections.

Reportedly, a massive rally led by Raees Hazoor Ahmed Marfani, Bago Khan Dostani, Jalaluddin Gaibani, Ali Raza Choliyani, Tumandar Khan Muhammad Mirwani, Raban Khan Marfani, Pervaiz Chandio, Mehran Chandio was carried out from Qambar, Warah and Mehar sub-districts that accumulated in front of Bhutto House.

Angry protesters chanted full-throat slogans against Sardar Khan Chandio when he arrived at the gate. Consequently, he left and chose another way to pass through the gate.

Meanwhile, the protesters followed him but police restricted them. “Save party of martyrs, don’t issue tickets to killers,” the agitators said while adding that people do not want ‘Sardari’ and ‘Nawabi’ system in the country.

“Killers are sitting inside air-conditioned rooms while we the poor voters are protesting in this scorching heat of summer,” they remarked while demanding justice and expressing deep concerns that no government official responded to address their grievances. While talking to the media Pervaiz Chandio said that on January 17, 2018 his father Karamullah Chandio and two brothers namely Qabil Chandio and Mukhtiar Chandio were killed in front of DSP office.

He accused Sardar Chandio, Burhan Chandio and their accomplices of murdering them. He demanded PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to not issue party tickets to the killers. Moreover, other protesters also expressed dissatisfaction over PPP’s issuance of tickets to the alleged murderers, and claimed that they would withdraw their support to the party and PPP would face serious consequences in Warah, Qambar and Mehar sub-districts during election campaign.

Later, media coordinator of Faryal Talpur, Ghulam Mustafa Leghari, held talks and negotiated with the agitators. Consequently, four protesters were taken inside the house for a meeting with Bilawal and Faryal Talpur.

Contrarily, Sardar Khan Chandio refuted their accusations and claimed that the protesters do not belong to his constituency. “The case is being heard in the court, and police have absolved us from all charges,” he said. The party activist Aijaz Leghari tried to convince the protesters that they would be called for another meeting with Bilawal at Bilawal House in Karachi after three days.
