The Kumrat Summer Sports and Cultural Festival will commence on June 22 (today) at the scenic Kumrat valley.

Upper Dir Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ullah Mehsud on Thursday said all-out resources have been utilized to ensure maximum facilities to the local, national and international tourists in order to attract maximum number of tourists to the beautiful valley. He said that 80 percent of work on pavement of roads has already been completed while the rest is underway at a fast pace. Besides, foolproof security, healthcare, quality accommodation and other facilities will also be ensured to facilitate the tourists, he added. “We are working hard to welcome tourists to this beautiful scenic valley not only for the annual Kumrat festival but also throughout the summer season,” he said.

He said that more than 60,000 vehicles have crossed toward Kumrat valley so far apart from thousands joining from nearby areas. “We have worked hard to ensure flawless arrangements for the tourists this year. Tourism impacts the socio-economic development of an area and that is why we are gathering data to convince the local and international tourists to come and enjoy the beauty of the scenic valley,” he said. “We want to promote Kumrat valley as the primary destination for local and foreign tourists besides giving a message of peace and love to the people around the world,” he added.
