Pakistan to participate in 17th Asian Sailing Championship

ISLAMABAD: A 13-member Pakistan sailing team including two officials, left here for Jakarta the other day to compete in the 17th Asian Sailing Championship being held there from June 21 to 25. The regatta serves as a curtain-raiser for the Asian Games that take place at the same venue in August-September. According to a spokesman for the Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF), some 250 sailors from 15 countries would vie for honours in different classes.

Team: Sr Tech Tanveer Ahmed and Chief PT I Najeebullah Khan (Laser Standard); Chief PTI Qasim Abbas and Petty Officer Tariq Ali (Wind Surfing RSF Class IV); Chief PTI Khalid Hussain and Petty Officer Rehmanullah (470); Hana Fatima (Laser 4.7 girls); Ali Bin Nasir Rao and Mohammad Owais (Laser 4.7); Abdullah Akram and MohammadAhmed (Optimist).
