ECP to make assets’ details public in 10 days

Author: Staff Report

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will make public the details of assets of all candidates in the upcoming general election, official sources told Daily Times on Wednesday.

They said the details would be released for public use within a period of seven to 10 days.

The collection of these details is in process. Once all details have been compiled, these would be uploaded on the ECP website.

The details to be shared with the public would include nomination papers and the affidavits submitted by candidates on Supreme Court of Pakistan’s directives.

ECP officials have already started scanning relevant documents.

In 2013, the ECP had released details of the nomination papers of the candidates, but the details were removed from the website after reservations were expressed by the elected leadership of the country.
