Centre kept KP government aloof from CPEC: Khattak

PESHAWAR: Federal government under ferocious design had kept the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government of the dividends of CEPC, but fortunately the Chinese Projects have forced the central government to take in loop and made our province as most imperative rout for the CEPC project, said KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak while addressing a seminar on “university/ Industry and interaction in KP and FATA”,

The seminar held at Islamiya Collage University.

“CEPC is game changer in the region, but unfortunately the federal government have kept us in dark for more than two years, regarding the befits or the projects in the country, but certain decision from the KP government have forced the central government to keep us aware on the projects” Pervez Khattak said.

The CEPC isn’t the project for the Punjab only, which central government want to keep it so, it’s a project the Chinese have designed for all of the country, but after the all part conference in the capital Islamabad, the prime minister have decide to take us on board, he added.

“We have singed open pacts with the Chinese government, they have decided to have special economic zones in the province and seventeen industrial zones in the province at various places, and special western route we have secure via Chitral, Dir up to Wahkhan corridor and that we PTI demands from the center which they and the Chinese authority accepted”, the Chief Minister said.

“We have signed an agreement with the Canadian firm for investment in the energy sector, and they have pledged to invest for the production of one thousand megawatt electricity via solar”, he added.

On the occasion he stressed that education is the only way forward and through research in the education could bring us to the level of developed nations, Chief Minister PervezKhattak said.

The chief Minister appreciated the work and objective of the office of research, innovation and communication Islamia College/University Peshawar (ORIC) for the field of research innovation new techniques for the students at Varsity and college level.

He said that for boosting the field of education is the need of the hour and the purpose of the ORIC is that to promote that through that we goals of uplifting of the field of education where a day will come that we can compete the world in the research and new innovative.

Khattak said that now a number of cream students are going abroad for higher education due to lack of quality research work and programs and that why KP government had decided to give these students an opportunity at home to work for the development of their own country that is only possible through forming ORIC like initiatives.
