Former PPP MNA Dr Talat Iqbal joins PTI

DADU: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday emerges even stronger in Dadu district after former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and MNA Dr Talat Iqbal Mahisar swore allegiance to PTI.

Reportedly, the district leaders of PTI celebrated the day by expressing great joy and satisfaction, and visited many parts of the district.

Meanwhile, Ex-PPP leader Mahisar together with his relatives and supporters including Sardar Tufail Ahmed Mahisar, Bashir Ahmed Mahisar, Imtiaz Ahmed Mahisar, Saqib Tufail Ahmed Mahisar met the former Sindh chief minister and PTI leader Liaquat Ali Jatoi at Jatoi house situated at Betto Jatoi Village in Mehar sub-district.

During a joint press conference, Jatoi and Mahisar vowed to support PTI candidates with their full effort and strength in the upcoming general elections-2018.

“PTI is gaining more strength day by day,” Jatoi said adding that during the ten-year tenure of PPP, the people of Sindh had suffered severe hardships and financial crisis due to massive corruption, nepotism and injustice committed by the rulers.

He further alleged that law and order situation of the province had worsened while state organs were ruined pushing Sindh back to 100 years. Furthermore, Mahisar revealed that he had quit PPP because the party leadership had neglected and ignored real PPP activists after Benazir Bhutto was assassinated.

“Mahisar family has been affiliated with Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto since the day PPP was founded as a party. Now, Mahisar family has ended political relationship with PPP,” he said adding that they would be loyal to PTI and work together for the welfare, progress and prosperity of the nation.

An influential politician of Sindh, Dr Talat Iqbal Mahisar was elected as PPP MNA during general election of 2008, and is the brother of later senior politician Rafiq Mahisar. He is also son-in-law of former federal minister and PPP leader Zaffar Ahmed Leghari.

Moreover, Eight influential PPP leaders who are head of their villages, have also announced to join PTI along with their 5,000 supporters and tribesmen in a public gathering at Bothro village in Mehar Taluka on Monday.

The gathering was presided over by Liaquat Ali Jatoi.

The PPP leaders who have quit PPP and joined PPP include Abdul Sattar Kandhro, Dr Nazeer Kandhro, Ayoob Gorar, Siraj Gorar, Gulzar Ahmed Shaikh, Shahnawaz Mallah, Meer Mallah and Amir Mallah.

Later, they announced to support PTI candidates in the upcoming general elections of 2018.

“PTI would ensure that fundamental rights of the general public are secured including food, quality education, health and security,” he said while denouncing PPP over its incompetence and lack of ability to govern the province.

He further pledged that PTI would eradicate corruption and would develop industrial infrastructure with an aim to increase employment rate and decrease poverty in the towns.

Later, he appealed the public to join PTI.

PTI candidate for NA-235 Karim Ali Jatoi, PTI candidate for PS-85 Sardar Ashiq Ali Zour, Dr Khalil Sikandar Khunharo, Waqar Khan Kamangar, Ayoob Khoso, Haji Abdul Latif Arain, Advocate Zulifiqar, Dr Ghulam Abbas Mahisar, Niaz Buriro also addressed the public on the occasion.

Meanwhile, PTI leaders carried out rallies in Dadu, Mehar, KN Shah and Johi to mark the celebrations.

Police arrest two absconders

The Wahi Pandhi Police on Monday arrested two proclaimed absconders namely Allah Waryao and Rajib Leghari during a raid at Wahi Pandhi-Johi road near Wahi Pandhi town.

According to the Dadu senior superintendent of police Qamar Raza Jiskani, the arrested absconders were wanted in more than ten cases lodged at different police stations of Dadu district.

Police recovers unidentified dead body

An unidentified dead body of 50-year-old man was recovered on Monday in Saban Bulhro Village near Mehar town.

Reportedly, the area police observed marks of torture on the body of deceased, and later shifted it to the Edhi centre in Mehar for burial.

Two motorists die in accident, driver flees

Two motorists died on Monday in a road accident after a car rammed into a motorcycle near Mehar town.

Reportedly, the driver managed to flee from the scene.

The deceased were identifies as Shadid Solangi and Sadam Solangi who were residents of Dadu town.

Their bodies were handed over to their relatives by Mehar town police after completing medico-legal formality.
