KHAIRPUR: Three more children died on Sunday due to an outbreak of highly contagious measles in Saleh Pat, a town of Sukkur District in Sindh province.
Reportedly, the children including Tahira Mangsi, Majida Mangsi and Maryam Mangsi died in Mangsi Mohalla as the virus has spread across the region, and infected dozens of children. The villagers have repeatedly appealed to the district administration of Sukkur to dispatch teams of doctors to their villages for vaccinating the children.
Labourer shot dead
A labourer was shot dead on Eid day near Choondiko, a city of Khairpur district of Sindh province.
According to Sorah Police, labourer Khan Muhammad Jatoi was on his way to offer Eid prayers at Saido Village when armed men intercepted and opened fire on him. Resultantly, he died on the spot while assailants fled from the spot.
The police took the body into custody and handed over to his heirs after acquiring autopsy report from Choondiko Hospital. The attack was fuelled by an old enmity between the deceased and the murderers. The Sorah Police lodged case against five armed men and started further investigation into the incident.
