KHAIRPUR: Three men were gunned down while three women were left injured on late Saturday by assailants who attacked them near Rohri, a town of Sukkur district in Sindh province.

Reportedly, suspected armed men stormed into the house of Imdad Ali Metlo, situated at Basar Metlo Village, and killed him and his two sons namely Nawaz Metlo and Waseem Metlo on the spot.

Meanwhile, women including Gulzaran, Nabeelan and Munawaran sustained critical injuries.

Consequently, the alleged murderers managed to flee from the scene.

The Jhangaro Police rushed to the spot and transported the bodies to the Civil Hospital in Sukkur.

The bodies of deceased were handed over to their heirs after doctors completed autopsy.

The villagers alleged that they had informed the police, but they did not arrive in time.

According to police sources, a girl, belonging to family of suspects, had eloped with her lover who belonged to Imdad’s family.

Meanwhile, the villagers and relatives of the deceased held a demonstration on Sunday near Rohri toll plaza and blocked national highway.

The PPP leader and former Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah arrived and negotiated with the protesters that the culprits would be arrested as soon as possible.

Following his assurance, the protesters ended their protest.

While talking to the media, Khurshid Shah said that ignorance still prevails in our society.

Later, he said that a team has been constituted to investigate into the incident and arrest the culprits as soon as possible.
