LAHORE: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday asked NADRA to probe and take action against those, including NADRA Chairman Usman Mubeen, allegedly involved in leaking voter data.

In an official letter written to NADRA, the ECP ordered probe into the matter and said that leaking voter data to unauthorised parties is a violation of the agreement between the two bodies.

NADRA Chairman Usman Mubeen is accused of leaking voter data to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to help them triumph in the elections.

To this end, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) also announced on Sunday that the will file a petition against the NADRA chief before the ECP.

PTI leader Babar Awan will file the petition in ECP seeking probe into the matter and removal of Usman Mubeen as NADRA chairman.
