Eid-ul-Fitar also known as ‘Meethi Eid’ is incomplete without Sheer khurma and doodh sawayyian.

We as typical Pakistani families like to eat sheer khurma before Eid prayer. It has evolved into a tradition. This halka phulka nashta (light breakfast) before Eid prayer will sweeten your Eid more.

After constant patience of 30 days of Ramazan, we anxiously wait for some desi touch to our Eid. After giving Fitrana and offering Eid prayer, people rush to desi breakfast spots. Fresh tandoori nan bread with Hareesa or Channay. Can you name a better combination? I bet you can’t!

However, meethi Eid is incomplete without Halwa puri, although it can be unhealthy because of excessive oil, but, we are Lahoris we cannot resist the temptation of having a scrumptious breakfast. Here are some of Lahore’s best breakfast outlets you should try this Eid.

  • Zafar Halwa Puri

Zafar Halwa Puri is located in Lahore’s famous shopping spot AnarKali.

Atta wali puri (whole wheat) is Zafar’s specialty.  It’s small in size as compared to the traditional puri. Must try his suji ka halwa.

  • Saadiq Halwa Purri

Sadiq’s halwa is best in town since 1880. It has the perfect amount of sweetness, smooth like silk and taste, YUM! Their pioneer shop is on railway road but now they have started multiple branches in Lahore.

  • Taj Mahal Sweets

Their recipe is original and different. They serve two types of halwa, the one is Suji and the other one is Poora. This scrumptious Poora is made of pure khooya with nuts.

Plus, their chickpeas curry is not the regular one; they will serve you Channy with yellow curry and freshly sliced onion pieces.

  • Capri

Capri has been a go-to place for breakfast in Lahore, it’s right in the middle of the city, situated in the Liberty market Gulberg.

Maybe the ambiance is not so good but the taste and the quality of food are ten on ten.
