National Accountability Bureau (NAB) claimed that they arrested Nasir Abbas, former director general of Karachi Development Authority (KDA) along with a relative of his on Thursday.
NAB officials said that Nasir Abbas and Raza Abbas were arrested on new references against them including illegal allotment of lands in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Korangi areas.
According to NAB, Nasir was also accused of illegal allotment of already allotted plots on exchange in Gulistan-e-Jauhar block 6.
According to the officials, NAB made the decision to arrest Nasir this time after obtaining details of plots and extensive investigation.
Earlier anti-graft department had arrested Abbas on November 2, 2017 in a raid at KDA office.
Nasir had earlier accepted plea-bargaining and confirmed to deposit Rs 400 million in national kitty, but after lapse of depositing date, NAB arrested him again.
Nasir had promised to deposit money after getting bail, but he again failed.
Nasir is facing cases on the charges of possessing dual passport, laundering more than Rs 3 billionm illegally allotting around 17 commercial plots in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and allegedly allotting nearly 30 amenities plots in different parts of city for the construction of wedding halls and other commercial activities.
