PPP will clean sweep general elections, says Nawab Wasan

KHAIRPUR: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former MNA Nawab Khan Wasan on Thursday denounced Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) during an iftar party organised by PPP leader Nizamuddin Bhangar at Bhangar village near Pir Jo Goth. Reportedly, Wasan is contesting election from provincial seat PS-32 of Pir Jo Goth.

“GDA has no political future, and PPP will sweep the polls in the upcoming general elections 2018 by securing majority of the votes,” he said adding that fortunately he would be contesting against highly competent candidate for PS-32. “Otherwise, GDA candidates are only able to contest election of union council,” he said. He maintained that PPP had provided employment opportunities to educated youths without any discrimination in its tenure. He asserted that PPP has been a symbol of unity, integrity and prosperity in Pakistan that had rendered services for the poverty-stricken masses. “Pir Jo Goth is one of the strong forts of PPP where majority of the PPP activists are living,” he claimed. Wasan expressed hope that PPP would form next government in Pakistan, and claimed that PPP solely believes on free, fair and transparent elections. Besides a large number of PPP workers, Ibrahim Mangrio, Syed Dur Muhammad Shah, Amanullah Abbasi, Syed Azam Shah, Syed Akber Shah, Ibrahim Khoso, Bhakhshan Shah, Abdul Hameed Abbasi, Riaz Khaskheli and notables were also present on the occasion.

Motorist dies in road accident

A man died on Thursday when a speedy car rammed into his motorcycle at national highway road near Shah Hussain bypass in the district of Khairpur. Reportedly, Khurshed Ahmed, a resident of Mehmood Phulpoto Village, succumbed to his wounds when he was transported to Civil Hospital in Khairpur.

Meanwhile, the car driver managed to flee from the spot while Shah Hussain police station has lodged first information report (FIR) against him. The deceased’s body was handed over to his relatives after autopsy was completed.

Body found

The Rawanti Police on Thursday recovered a dead body from a fish farm located near Daharki, a city of Ghotki District in the Sindh province.

Reportedly, passersby found a body from a fish farm in Pir Bux Bhutto village. Consequently, they informed Rawanti police, who transported the body to Daharki Hospital for conducting medico-legal formality and identification. Later, the deceased was identified as Abdul Hadi Bhutto, a resident of Pir Bux Bhutto.

Meanwhile, the police suspected that Abdul was murdered while his body was dumped at fish farm.

Passenger dies after falling from train

A rail passenger on Thursday fell from a train and died on the spot near Kot Lalo Railway Station.

Reportedly, he was travelling from Karachi to Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, the railway police found a ticket from his pocket and shifted the body to rural health centre in Kot Lalo for medico-legal formality and identification.

Child dies in measles outbreak

A minor child died on Thursday due to an outbreak of highly contagious measles in Bhiria, a town in Naushahro Feroze District in Sindh province.

Reportedly, Mehran Bibi Khoso was suffering from measles disease. According to villagers, measles virus has spread across many villages in Sindh which has claimed lives of many children.

Meanwhile, they demanded high authorities to send teams of doctors to their villagers for treatment and vaccination.

Former surgeon of Khairpur Hospital dies

A former civil surgeon of Khairpur Civil Hospital major (rtd) Dr Abdul Majeed Abro on Thursday died due to severe illness in Sukkur.

Reportedly, his funeral prayer was offered at Ubaro where a large number of doctors and notables were gathered, and paid tribute to him.

He was laid to rest at a graveyard in Ubaro.
