Karachi: A 15-member delegation of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) led by its Secretary General Dr Jabbar Khatak called on caretaker Sindh Minister for Information Jameel Yusuf at the latter’s office on Wednesday.
The CPNE delegation congratulated Jameel Yusuf on becoming a member of interim Sindh cabinet. They discussed the 6 point agenda, including a prompt liaison between the media and the Information Department.
The CPNE delegation briefed the caretaker minister about the working and day to day affairs of the CPNE for the welfare and wellbeing of the newspaper editors, media houses and journalists.
Interim Minister Jameel Yusuf gave them a patient hearing and assured them that all their genuine issues would be resolved on priority. He further assured that their outstanding payments would be made within stipulated time. He said that the government was ensuring transparency at every level in the government departments without delay. The delegation invited the minister to be a guest at Meet the Editors Programme at CPNE Secretariat.
The caretaker minister accepted the invitation and said that his doors were open to them. “We will sit together to sort out all pending issues amicably,” he said.
