GCU VC given additional charge

Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah, vice chancellor of the Government College University (GCU), has been given the additional post of University of Narowal vice chancellor.

A notification in this regard was issued on Wednesday by the Punjab Higher Education Department after the approval of Chancellor/Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana.

According to the notification, Prof Hassan Shah will hold the additional charge of the post till the appointment of regular vice chancellor at University of Narowal.

Prof Shah is an eminent physicist and recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz. He has done post-doctoral fellowships at several reputed foreign institutions, including the University of Sussex London, International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy and the Space Physics Institute, Rome. He still has research collaborations with top institutions of the world and overall impact factor of his research papers exceeds 200.
