ISLAMABAD: Interim Prime Minister Justice (r) Nasirul Mulk Wednesday sought a report from the Interior Ministry over the removal of the name of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s close aide Syed Zulfi Bukhari from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The caretaker premier’s notice came two days after the London-based businessman was granted one-time permission by the Interior Ministry to perform Umrah and return in six days despite his name being on the ECL.
Bukhari was placed on the no-fly list on the recommendations of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). However, details of any NAB inquiries or cases against him are yet to be known.
Bukhari is a UK-based businessman, also associated with the PTI.
