Climate change

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Climate change is now the most significant threat facing our planet today, and what makes it even scarier is that there is no real way of predicting how and when it might strike. The climate round the world has been changing disturbingly fast and is resulting in all kinds of random natural disasters, as well as unprecedented temperature highs. There is quite a lot of evidence that points to human beings being the major contributors to this global phenomenon.

Not only has the growing population around the world resulted in a hike in average temperatures, it has also led to a scarcity of natural resources.

Things like deforestation, and the polluting of the earth’s water, air and land has brought us to the very edge. It is going to be extremely hard, or even impossible according to some experts, to go back to the way things were before. Human beings everywhere will have to make serious changes to both their lifestyle, as well as the way we treat our planet.

If the planet keeps getting warmer a t the same rate it is now, there will be serious consequences for life on earth. Our first step can focus on reducing the amount of greenhouse gasses we use in our products and daily life. This small step, may eventually lead us to a more positive outcome in the future.
