LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday said that Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed’s political career should end on the ground.
Sanaullah, passed the remarks following Supreme Court’s (SC) dismissal of disqualification petition against Rasheed.
He added that “the disqualification of politicians has negative effects and that he did not support their ouster.”
The former law minister asserted that the AML chief had adopted a good gesture today, by thanking God after the announcement of his disqualification case verdict.
Earlier today, SC announced its verdict over a petition seeking disqualification of AML chief for misappropriation of assets. The petition was filed by PML-N leader Shakeel Awan who had lost the elections against Rasheed in 2013 general elections.
AML chief while addressing the media outside the court had criticized PML-N leader Nawaz, stating that he accepted SC’s verdict unlike some, and would have respected it even if it was not in his favor.
He had claimed that he had not done any wrong, rather had owned his mistake and left the matter in God’s hands. Rasheed had said that for 84 days the court reserved its verdict and his respect was at stake, now God had bestowed his blessings upon him and turned things to his favor.
