Though some of the leaders of the PML-N parliamentary board were in favour of Shahbaz Sharif’s participation in general elections from Karachi the decision was taken back after a long consultation and conversation during the board meeting.
PML-N sources told Daily Times that former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif wanted to participate in upcoming general elections from all four provinces as nomination papers from Lahore, Dera Ghazi Khan (Punjab), Karachi (Sindh) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were obtained.
But some party leader were of the view that it would be very difficult for Shehbaz Sharif to run election campaigns in many constituencies and that was why the decision was retracted and it has been decided that he would participate only general elections on three seats.
PML-N leader and central parliamentary board member Mushahidullah Khan confirmed that Shahbaz Sharif won’t contest elections from Karachi but said that Karachites had been disappointed by this decision as they wanted Shahbaz Sharif to change their fate.
