QWP leader shot dead in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: Senior lawyer and leader of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Mohammad Jan Gagyani was shot dead and his nephew was injured by armed gunmen in Haji Zai area of Shabqadar on Saturday.

Armed assailants riding motorcycles opened fire on Muhammad Jan Advocate and his nephew near Hajji Zai area and managed to escape from the scene.

As a result, the senior lawyer breathed his last on the spot and his nephew sustained serious bullet injuries.

The leader’s nephew was rushed to DHQ Hospital and later shifted to Peshawar for treatment. Police officials said the incident looked like a target killing incident.

Police have registered a case and started investigations into the matter.
