Punjab, Sindh to witness very hot, dry weather

A fresh advisory issued by Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), on Sunday, stated that very hot and dry weather is expected in southern Punjab, Sindh and its capital Karachi on Monday.

However, more rain and thundershower with gusty winds are expected in Malakand, Hazara, Bahawalpur divisions, upper FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

During past 24 hours, rain-thundershower with gusty winds occurred at scattered places in Punjab, Malakand, Hazara, D.I khan, Zhob, Sukkur divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir.

However, weather remained very hot and dry in other parts of the country.

Rainfall (mm) recorded during last 24 hours in Bahawalnagar was 40 mm, Toba Tek Singh 39 mm, Jhang 35 mm, Layyah 25 mm, DG khan and Multan 12mm , Kasur 10mm , R.Y khan 06 mm, Rawalpindi, Lahore PBO, Faisalabad 03 mm each , Islamabad Z.P 02 mm, Kot Addu, Khanpur, Murree, Gujranwala 01 mm each.

In Balochistan 15 mm of rain fell in Zhob whereas in KPK, Malamjabba’s downpour was recorded at 12 mm, Saidu Sharif 09 mm, Kalam 02 mm and Dir 01 mm.

In Kashmir, 07 mm of rain was recorded in Muzaffarabad’s rainfall and 02 mm in Garidupatta.

Rainfall recorded in Jacobabad, Sindh was 01 mm.
