Rain brings mercury down

Light and heavy rains turned weather pleasant across the country on Saturday.

The provincial capital also received heavy rain bringing mercury down.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain and gusty winds are expected in different parts of the country, including Gujranwala, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, DG Khan, Zhob divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The department predicted that current spell will continue till the Saturday evening.

The PMD has also predicted that the pre-monsoon season in Pakistan will start from June 15, just before Eidul Fitr.

Last month, the country, especially Karachi, faced a severe heatwave with temperatures hovering above 40 degree Celsius.
