Hope against hope

Author: Maryam Suleman

Distraught, alone as I walk

Peers at me through the dark

The wind, so does the wrath

That of the sky’s stalk

I hold onto the moment

For the worth it has

Stumbling across the path,

What was that I looked for?

Giving a look back to the start

I find nothing but nothingness (itself)

A man who plunged himself into the abyss of despair

Looked for light to escape the dark

And as I look ahead of me,

I see a gleam that guides me

Towards the end of dark tunnel

Where now a new life starts.
